Add a touch of graphic and desert originality to your collection with the fascinating Ledebouria socialis (commonly called Scilla violacea or Leopard Begonia)! Native to the dry savannas of South Africa, this semi-succulent bulbous plant immediately captivates with its fleshy, lanceolate leaves, beautifully adorned with olive-green spots on a shimmering silvery-gray background. The great secret of its elegance lies beneath its foliage, revealing an intense and contrasting purplish-violet underside, while its small purplish bulbs proudly peek out from the soil surface.
Special feature: Silver foliage spotted like a leopard's coat with visible bulbs and a deep purple underside.
Light: Bright light, with indirect light or moderate direct sun (strong light is essential to maintain its contrasting patterns).
Watering: Allow the potting mix to dry out almost completely between waterings. Its bulbs and leaves store water, so it tolerates drought very well and fears overwatering.
Safety: Toxic to pets — contains irritating compounds, keep out of reach of dogs and cats.
