The Aeschynanthus longicaulis 'Black Pagoda' is a magnificent compact variety highly prized for its unique, graphic foliage. Its small, thick, elongated leaves feature a superb bright green color in the center, deeply marked by contrasting dark forest green marbling reminiscent of reptile skin patterns, while the underside is tinted a beautiful purplish burgundy. Borne on lovely creeping or trailing stems, this plant forms a dense and compact dome that offers a beautiful textural effect in a hanging basket.
Care instructions:
- Light: Provide as much bright light as possible, but without direct sun to preserve the intense and contrasting marbled patterns of its leaves.
- Watering: Wait until the potting soil is quite dry to about half the depth of the pot before watering again. Its fleshy leaves tolerate being forgotten but hate excess standing water.
- Humidity: It adapts perfectly to the normal ambient humidity of our homes, but greatly appreciates a slightly more humid atmosphere.
